Patwari’ Reaches to Disaster Hit Population in Uttarakhand Mountain State of India
After almost 20 days, since flash flood disaster hit Kedarnath valley in Uttarakhand, the lowest state level government functionary, responsible for maintaining land, population and other records in revenue villages, could finally reach to the areas assigned to thim. It is supposed that Patwari is important and responsible government servant, who should record everything at lowest level, and inform district and state functionaries about the situation and areas of urgent actions.
However, he visited villages after 20 days, so, one can understand that how sensitive the responsible functionaries are in Uttarakhand, about the deaths of over 10000 people, and the hardship people now face for basic services like food, shelter and health cares.
The insensitivity at state level has already been highlighted by various media channels, while in villages the situation is not very different.
An example of worst and insensitive governance in the mountain state Uttarakhand of India.
