Gender Non-Sense

Posted on June 12, 2013

‘Gender’ to ‘gender based approach’ the buzz words, everyday we learn from humanitarian and right based agencies working in India. A real non-sense, which is beyond in practice, when we count their workforce at state and district level.
The workforce data shows that they are highly gender insensitive in their day to day functioning. At national level it could be curbed from peer pressure coming from their international offices, and national media keeps close watch on such anomalies, while in states and districts media is not that particular about such issues.
And why not?
The fact is that census 2011 of India finds population sex ratio 940 females per 1000 males, and worst are the cases like in states Uttar Pradesh, 908 female vs. 1000 males!
